Trust......

Trust = a firm belief in the relationship, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.

I find it hard to trust people. It was not laid down in me when I was a child, my parents having difficulties of their own which gave me an 'on and off' experience with their loving care of me. There was no emotional consistency from them, and that was life long until they passed over.  As an adult I would search for that consistency from others, but would always be disappointed. Eventually I would build emotional walls and become inconsistent myself....... sometimes being available to people, sometimes shutting them out, wanting to trust people  but becoming untrustworthy myself. 

But this is a condition of being human, that is what I have learnt as I have grown in self. And one of the biggest lessons of all to learn is to allow for others to be less than perfect in themselves, because I am less than perfect in my self. In other words, to trust that people are  doing their best according to the emotional programming they had in their earlier years, and not to feel let down because they are less than perfect. To have a belief that you can trust that their hearts are trustworthy, even though their human self is inconsistent. 

I have learnt that our hearts are always true, my experience having taught me that our hearts are connected to the energy of The Universe, which is totally trustworthy and will never let you down. So my heart can be trusted, and I will never let anyone down either, but my head can with all the wayward thinkings of a human being. And that, my friend, is how it is for all of us. 

As for my parents....... now they have passed over and no longer have to cope with their human conditioning because they don't have a body and brain anymore, they are now free to be pure heart energy of love. Your soul energy, which is a portion of the Universal energies, resides in your heart, as it does with all of us, and upon 'passing over' that energy reunites with the whole force. 

How do I know this? Because I have been given the experience of having the soul of someone who was passing over use me as a gateway between this world and the next. It was a magical experience, which I shall write about another time.

Ep 16: So, is there 'something' beyond us? Some people think there is, others say there isn't and that life on Earth as we know it is all that there is.

Having a go at dyeing

I have an elderly skirt which is starting to look past its best. 

I can either retire it, and eventually cut up the fabric and reuse it elsewhere, or I can try dyeing it in the hopes that it will become refreshed enough to keep on wearing as a skirt.

Ep 13: cherries, parcel, update, the conversion of mud.

Cherries!

A casual walk around the veg plots out back, and Lester sees some cherries which are ready for picking, but alack and alas he has no time to do the harvest. So out I go and manage a bowl full, which encourages him to go up the ladder later on, and pick another bowl. Two days later and I enjoy a lovely sunny afternoon getting the pips out of the cherries, and then into the canner, and six jars made.

This was my first canning after a two year break. It felt very satisfying.

Parcel

……and the joys of having a parcel arrive to unwrap, even though I knew what was inside it, which was:

- white cotton lawn, 2 meters, to be used as an experiment in dyeing it a different colour.

-  pale pink cotton dobby, which has little raised bobbles over its surface.

- green poplin, which is less soft than I usually find poplin to be, but it might soften after washing. All the fabrics are to be washed and only then can I know what standard the fabric is.

I have finally found the courage to begin this shawl, and it is proving to be a a joy to work on, and not worthy of my initial fear of it. I am three quarters up the first part of the shawl.

I am waiting for some extra balls of wool to arrive in the post so I can finish this project off.  This is my first crochet top, and I am pleased with it so far.

The joys of working with mud, as I conclude my efforts at soil blocking, having begun the first part in Episode 12.

My cutting table is out of action for the moment because Lester has ‘borrowed’ most of the surface to spread out the recently delivered parts of  his ‘Make a new computer’ Project. Not to worry, lots of bits and pieces to catch up on.
